I Know It's Easier....

In the land of life, surviving emotional trauma and betrayal by people we thought loved us isn't a novelty. Somehow we survive it all and if we are patient and mindful, we can resolve the pain, learn about ourselves and others and be open to love again. Too often though, I see men slamming "women" and women slamming "men" with labels. All in an effort to never get hurt again. Sadly, that doesn't work because we are only hurting ourselves no matter how strong the denial.

MYTHS/FACTS

Men love harder then women do.

Love is actually an evolutionary emotion; though we are raised to believe it's constant. It is possible to love the same person as long as you build a foundation on friendship; have shared values and interests; and, grow in the same direction. And though the emotion can be consistent, how it's shared changes. If it doesn't change, it won't last. A person's gender doesn't have any bearing on how strong the love is or how intense the pain of heartbreak is.

Feminism is responsible for the destruction of the family unit.

I won't argue that the 2-parent family began dwindling in the late 60s/early 70s. The fact is, if women had been treated like people, not property; being forced into arranged marriages sometimes as children to grown men; forced to stay in marriages where they were mentally and physically abused, with no choice but to live a life of torture -and the list goes on. I'm not saying the present is perfect but until men and women come to some middle-ground where everyone is treated humanely, women will continue to choose single life for their own peace of mind.

Masculinity is toxic.

Masculinity is about the traits and behaviors that people usually think of as being male, like being strong, doing things on your own, and speaking up for yourself. When masculinity is healthy, it can be a good way for someone to express who they are. However, toxic masculinity is the bad side of it. It's when society puts unfair pressure on men to act tough, be in charge, and not show their feelings. This kind of toxic masculinity can cause real problems like violence, treating women badly, and being mean to people who are different. That's why it matters to notice when masculinity becomes toxic and stand up against it. By doing this, we can help create better ideas about what it means to be a man that are kinder and include everyone. (Healthy Masculinity)

Masculinity in Women is Toxic

Actually healthy and happy people are balanced by their masculine and feminine attributes (Balance and Harmony ).
